Eligibility for Free and Reduced Tickets

Free Admission

Children under 5 years old.
Visitors with a certified disability and one companion.
Unemployed persons with official documentation.
Members of large families with accreditation.
Official Tourist Guides and accredited teachers.
ICOM members.
On International Museum Day (May 18) and Spanish National Holiday (October 12).

Free Admission Hours

From Monday to Thursday, during the last two hours of opening, admission is free for citizens of the European Union, residents and holders of work permits in the EU, and citizens of Ibero-American countries. Proof of nationality or residence is required.

October to March: 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM
April to September: 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM

Reduced Admission (€9)

Children and young people aged 5 to 16.
Seniors aged 65 and over.
Students up to 25 years old with a valid student ID.

How to Claim Your Ticket

To take advantage of free or reduced admission, you must present valid, current documentation at the ticket office. For the free admission hours, be prepared for long queues, especially during peak season. It is not possible to book these free slots in advance online; they are only available at the ticket office on the day.

For all other categories (e.g., children, seniors, students), you can select the reduced ticket option when booking online and must show your corresponding ID at the entrance.

Can I book the free evening tickets online?

No, the tickets for the free admission hours (Monday-Thursday evenings) are only available in person at the ticket office on the day of the visit. Arrive early as queues can be very long.

What kind of ID do I need as a student?

You need a valid student card that shows your name, the name of the educational institution, and the current academic year. An international student card (ISIC) is widely accepted.
